john hampton

branch manager, ATTORNEY

John Hampton has been an attorney in Texas since 1979. His law practice addresses all aspects of residential real estate law, commercial real estate law and business law. He has served as an escrow officer, closer and counsel with Chicago Title, Fidelity Title and Sendera Title. Mr. Hampton is accomplished at working various transactions including raw land, ranches, mixed commercial and residential. He has handled over 500 million dollars in closings without a claim.

Mr. Hampton graduated cum lade from Deerfield Academy in 1972, magna cum lade from Bowdoin College in 1976 and from Southern Methodist University School of Law the recipient of the A.S.Hansen Consulting Actuaries Award; the Meyers, Middleton Advocacy Award; and the Jessup Regional Advocacy Award. He is currently active as a Municipal Court Judge, Election Judge, SMU Law School Instructor in Legal Writing, Board member in four Homeowners Associations and host of the KLIF 570 AM Radio “Ask the Lawyer Show”.

Don Tomlinson

President

Don Tomlinson has worked in residential and commercial real estate for the last twenty years in both a transactional and litigation capacity.

Don started his real estate related practice on the commercial side, focusing on lender and land development issues. He later maintained a solo practice focused on corporate law; commercial and residential real estate; and estate work. He then moved his focus to real estate exclusively, starting as a branch manager of title office and working his way up to a regional vice resident and eventually president. Most recently, he was president of a title company that served the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

Don grew up in West Virginia, where he attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. He attended law school at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia, and received an LLM from Loyola University Chicago. He is married with three children.

Lana Strickland, our Commercial Escrow Officer, joined Green Brick Title in 2019. She is responsible for guiding our client’s commercial transactions from inception to disbursements and through the issuance of final policy. Lana is dedicated to exceeding client’s expectations and committed to keeping them well informed every step of the way.

Before starting her escrow career, Lana worked as a legal assistant for a real estate attorney where she gained valuable experience in real estate transactions. She is a proud graduate of Texas Woman’s University and went on to graduate law school from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in May of 2020.

Lana makes her home here in North Texas with her husband, Tyler and their two dogs, Lucy and Emmy. Lana enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and taking Lucy and Emmy to the lake. She also loves to bake, much to her husband’s delight!

Lana Strickland, our Commercial Escrow Officer, joined Green Brick Title in 2019.
